The Ghanaian Gospel music community is in mourning following the heartbreaking news of Nhyira Marfo's passing on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Pastor Emmit Jim Konadu, a close collaborator and friend of Nhyira, has expressed his profound grief and admiration for her in a moving tribute.
Pastor Konadu shared fond memories of their time working together, reflecting on how Nhyira, affectionately known as "Shishi," stood by his side for eight years. "You were with me at every event and recording," he recalled. "You had a knack for evading me when I was about to give you an envelope, but you always did so with such grace."
Despite facing her own challenges, Nhyira’s dedication and selflessness were evident in her unwavering support. Pastor Konadu reminisced about her unique soprano voice and vibrant personality, both of which will be sorely missed. "I was looking forward to seeing you soon, but that 3 a.m. call from your brother has left me shattered."
In his heartfelt message, Pastor Konadu assured that while Nhyira’s absence will be deeply felt by the team, they find solace in the belief that she is now in a better place. "Heaven has gained an angel," he concluded. "Rest on, my girl."
The Gospel community joins Pastor Konadu in mourning the loss of Nhyira, celebrating her remarkable contributions and cherishing the memories she leaves behind.
"Shishi for 8 years you stood with me wherever the team went. You were part of all the recordings and the events. I’ll drop you at your gate and you would always try running away because you knew I was going to give you that envelop. You has a lot going on but you served selflessness. Please thank you for serving with us on this journey. I will miss your soprano and your personality. You were suppose to see me soon, but that 3am call from your brother has broken me till now. The team will miss you but we know you’re in a good place.
