Legendary gospel singer Victoria Sarfo recently met with the press to share her excitement about her upcoming event, the Peace Concert, titled "JESUS KASA MA GHANA." With an impressive 30-year career in gospel music, Sarfo aims to leverage this concert to promote peace and unity across the nation.
During the press meeting, Sarfo expressed her heartfelt appreciation for Brother Yabs, who she regards as a mentor. She revealed that it was through Yabs that she met her husband, Nana Kwaku Sarfo. This personal connection highlights the importance of mentorship and community in her life.
Reflecting on her journey, Sarfo reminisced about the early days of her career, when her songs were first played on Capital Radio by Frank Taylor before transitioning to Fox FM. She also acknowledged the support of Brother Sammy, who she considers a son, underscoring the familial bonds within the gospel music community.
The Peace Concert is not just a musical event; it’s a vital initiative aimed at sustaining peace in Ghana. Sarfo called on veteran gospel musicians to come together for this cause, emphasizing the importance of unity in the industry. She has remixed her beloved song "Mehia Wo Abre Nyinaa" three times, collaborating with notable artists like Florence Oninnim, Morris Baby Face, Sonnie Badu, Kofi Owusu Peprah, Cynthia, and Piesie Esther. This song, which has become a staple in her repertoire, resonates deeply with her audience, akin to a modern hymn.
Notably, it has been ten years since Sarfo last held a concert, making this Peace Concert a significant milestone in her career. The event is set to take place in Kumasi, with hopes of extending its reach to other regions in the future.
In a gesture of inclusivity, Sarfo plans to give a platform to a blind girl during the concert, reinforcing her commitment to uplifting underrepresented voices within the gospel community. There will be other Great Ministers on the night such as Lady Pastor Cynthia Apeadu of Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Piesie Esther, Rev Dr Esther Nyamekye, Brother Sammy, Benedict Antwi, Quame Gyedu, Etornam Diane Agbodoh all the from Togo, Sammy Peprah, Dr Apostle Sharon from USA and many more.
She has also expressed gratitude to the sponsors of the event, including MJ Group of Companies and Frankies Luxury, the media houses present for their invaluable support.
Victoria Sarfo's Peace Concert come off on the 10th of November at Golden beam Hotel Kumasi and it is poised to be a powerful celebration of faith, unity, and the enduring power of gospel music.
