The Zimbabwe Music Awards (ZIMAs) held its 2023 edition on June 3rd at the prestigious 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, Harare, bringing together the cream of Zimbabwe's music industry for a night of recognition and celebration. The event was a spectacle of fashion, music, and fun, as the who's who of Zimbabwean music gathered to honor the best of the best.
Janet Manyowa, a multi-talented songwriter and performer, stole the show with two major awards: Contemporary Gospel Song of the Year for her soulful hit, and Best Music Video for the stunning visuals accompanying her song 'Vaudze'. This was a testament to her hard work and dedication to her craft.
Meanwhile, the anointed Dorcas Moyo made a significant impact by winning the Best Traditional Gospel award, a well-deserved recognition of her contribution to the Gospel music fraternity. This win was a milestone for the Gospel community, marking a triumphant moment in the face of challenges.
