Mr Deg
The movie Prophet Suddenly to me is meant to be and is an eye opener to a lot of the things going on in the unseen realm of many Balaam type prophets in the body of Christ today.
The movie has received many positive reviews and has already been watched by close to 600k people on YouTube as at the time of my writing. I however have come across some arguments opposing the movie itself, most of which are shabbily done but somehow seem to be pulling some traction.
Let me make it clear that I'm not responding to these arguments because I have any favorable sentiments to the movie itself or anyone featured in the movie; I'm responding to these arguments because good arguments must exist for the mere fact that bad arguments need to be responded to.
One of the criticisms I saw was sort of insinuating that portraying the activities of false prophets and those in the false prophetic camps is bringing ridicule on people who genuinely work in the prophetic. The example being used was to say if the tables were turned and it was the healing ministry instead of the prophetic ministry that was used as a case study; what would the reaction be?
Come with me for a moment; think of a movie portraying the activities of quack nurses, where it's clearly established in the movie that these are quack nurses and then the movie makers go ahead to portray things quack nurses do to unsuspecting victims who go to the hospital for care. If a registered nurse watches that movie, would she cheer the movie producers on or would she feel insulted by the movie producers for ridiculing her noble profession?
Who do you think would be most offended by the movie exposing quack nursing practice? Exactly. It's those who stand to gain the most from quackery in nursing who will get infuriated and understandably so. False prophets need the same respect and dignity that is given to genuine servants of Jesus to stay relevant or to be deemed credible.
But there is more:
In scripture we see how false prophets and those who patronise them are handled.
Elijah on Mount Carmel gathered a great number of false prophets and before he showed the people that they were false, took out some good time to ridicule them.
1 Kings 18:27
And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.
Take note of the word 'mock'. Ridiculing and mocking false prophets was the most hospitable treatment they were going to receive in the hands of Elijah, a genuine prophet of God, as on that very day, he was going to put all of them to the sword.
Meanwhile I don't see anywhere in the movie where anyone was mocked (you could point it to me if you think I've missed it), what we see is what we normally see in the camp of many known false prophets today with an addition on what goes on in the back end.
Because you people know these charlatans parading as prophets. You know their victims and it's high time someone exposed them.
Mark them which cause divisions and offences and avoid them. Romans 16:17.
