Ghanaian Gospel singer and songwriter, Efe Grace has said that her father, Rev. Mensah Bonsu, played a huge role in how far she had come in the music industry.
When asked to take the audience of Onua Showtime on the journey she took in getting into the music industry, the then-backing vocalist shared that it all began when she was about 9 years old.
“I’ll start from when I began singing. I was very young, about 9 years. I saw that I had been blessed with some ‘singing’ grace. At the time, my dad was already in the scene so he saw that I had that gift. He started to give me the necessary training and support,” she said
She further gave her father, a renowned Ghanaian gospel minister, credit for investing time and money in her after realizing her gift. He was actually the first person that made her enter a studio.
“So those times, when he is going to minister at a program or he is going to the studio to record a song, he’ll bring me along so that I get the necessary training. My father was the one that sent me to the studio for the first time. I went there to back him,” she added.
The female gospel artiste also disclosed the year she started to professionalize her singing indicating that, “In 2011 when I completed school, I used to back Dr. Sonnie Badu. It was also during this period that I took music as my profession.”
Efe Grace used the platform given to her to express gratitude and appreciation to all key personalities that play diverse roles in her journey.
“I want to thank the Almighty God for the opportunity He has given me to preach of Him. I’m grateful. I want to thank Onua TV: I don’t take the opportunity for granted. I want to thank my father. He has been a blessing from day one. He is part of the reasons why I find myself here today. God bless him. I really love him,” she stated.
Still sending her ‘thank you’s out, Efe Grace continued saying, “A lot of thanks going to Dr. Sonnie, Mummy Ohemaa Mercy, Mummy Diana, Joe Mettle… they all gave me their platforms when I was coming up. They have all been a blessing to me… Everyone that supports Efe Grace Music, thank you so much.”
The Gospel songwriter hinted at the release of an album though she wasn’t ready to disclose the date.
“My album will be coming out soon but I don’t want to put the date out just yet,” she disclosed.
