In a heartwarming display of generosity, Bishop Godwin Benefo, representing Ghanafourmma Gh, an association of Ghanaians based in France, donated vital medication to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital earlier today 28th August, 2024. The donation, valued at 1000 Euros, consisted of L-Glutathione sickle cell medication, a crucial treatment for patients suffering from sickle cell disease.
Ms. Georgina Afua Sam, representing the hospital, graciously received the donation and expressed her deepest gratitude to the association. "We are thankful for this wonderful gesture," she said. "We would like to ask for more support, as it will greatly benefit our patients and healthcare services."
In addition to acknowledging the donation, Ms. Sam took the opportunity to highlight the ongoing renovation efforts at the hospital, known as the "Heal Komfo Anokye project," initiated by His Royal Majesty Otumfo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene of the Asante Kingdom. She appealed for further support to aid in the completion of this project, which aims to enhance the hospital's infrastructure and services.
This kind act by Ghanafourmma Gh demonstrates the power of community and the impact that collective efforts can have on healthcare in Ghana. The association's generosity will undoubtedly make a significant difference in the lives of patients and families affected by sickle cell disease, and their continued support will be instrumental in the success of the "Heal Komfo Anokye project."
