I was taken aback when my boyfriend suddenly stopped mid-act, claiming he heard someone calling his name. I didn't hear anything, and he searched the room and outside, finding no one. This scenario repeated itself, and I grew frustrated as the mood was ruined. He became withdrawn, convinced that the voice was a supernatural call from God, signaling his time to answer. I was skeptical, thinking he was losing his grip on reality.
The next morning, I witnessed him praying fervently, whispering phrases like "God's voice sounds silly in the ears of the unbelief." He declared that he couldn't continue our sinful ways and broke up with me, blocking my number and social media accounts. He claimed that God wanted him alone, and our two-year relationship ended abruptly.
I'm hurt, not just because of the breakup, but also because he used God's name as an excuse. It feels like a convenient escape from the love we shared. I question whether this is truly a divine call or just a clever ploy to exit our relationship. Though I know he won't return, sharing this pain might help me heal.
